How to choose the right wall art size
Four rules decorators use — then check the size on your own wall before you buy or sell.
Over a sofa or bed
Pick art about two-thirds as wide as the furniture. For an 84 in sofa that is about 56 in — one large canvas or a 3-panel set.
Hang the center at eye level
Put the middle of the piece 57–60 in (145–152 cm) from the floor, or 8–10 in above the back of a sofa or headboard.
Fill an empty wall
On a bare wall, art that covers 60–75% of the open space looks intentional. A small print alone on a big wall looks lost.

Questions about AR wall art previews
Is it really free?
Yes. Previews made without an account last 24 hours. A free account gives you 100 customer links, and each one works for 1000 days.
Do my customers need an app?
No. On iPhone it opens in Safari with Apple’s built-in AR viewer. On Android it opens in Chrome. On a computer they see the piece in 3D, with a QR code to open it on the phone.
How accurate is the size?
The 3D model is built at the exact size you pick, including the frame and the depth of the canvas, and AR keeps it at true scale. On a wall photo the size is as accurate as the object you measure with.
Which sizes and frames can I preview?
Standard canvas sizes for square, 5:4, 4:3, 3:2, 2:1 and 3:1 artwork, from 16 × 12 in up to 144 × 48 in (3-Panel sets up to 96 × 64 in), shown in inches or centimetres. Frames: none, or a floating frame in black, white, silver, gold, walnut, antique gold or oak, plus ornate gold and black-and-gold.
Does it work for 3-panel (triptych) art?
Yes. For 3:2, 2:1 and 3:1 artwork you can preview a 3-panel set at its total size, and let customers switch between a single canvas and 3 panels.
Can I use it for my Etsy or Shopify shop?
Yes. Make a customer link for any listing and send it in a message. The preview can show your shop logo and a “Back to Etsy listing” button. A free account also makes listing images in every size and 3D files (GLB and USDZ) for your store.
Who can see my images?
Only people with the link. We never store your original file — previews use a copy sized for AR, deleted within two days for 24-hour previews, and kept only while a customer link works. We keep a small preview of uploaded artwork; account holders can delete it in Settings, anyone can ask us at hello@wallpreview.com. Photos of your wall never leave your device.
